Paid Solo Ads – The Good, The Bad & the Down Right Ugly

soloads-300For those of you who have already been acquainted with paid Solo Ads you may have already experienced some Good, Bad or down right Ugly results from them.

For me personally I have to admit that as soon as I began to use them as a way to drive fast traffic to my offers (sales funnel) I knew they had given me the power to see almost instant results.

What do I really mean by instant results?

Well I say instant results because I wasn’t hanging around waiting for my S.E.O, blog commenting, blog posts, forum posts to take effect.

Now all these have their own place and are extremely powerful ways to drive targeted traffic to your online business once used in combination with paid traffic over time.

But with paid Solo Ads you can quickly gauge what works and what needs to dumped in your online business, you can build your list super fast and also test your whole sales funnel(s).

So for instance…

…You can place tracking links on your emails, your swipe email links you send out to your solo ad provider, you can split test your squeeze pages in Google Analytics and so much more.

So let’s say you bought 300 clicks from a solo ad seller and he/she sent you 320 clicks (you find most solo ad sellers send you a nice chunk of extra clicks just to sweeten the deal) you can quickly see from your results how well your sales page is converting from your O.T.O (one time offer) which squeeze page is sending you the most opt ins, how well your emails are performing at the back end of your sales funnel and which ones need to be brought forward plus so much more further down your sales funnel.

That is the beauty of owning a sales funnel because you can make many sales from your paid solo ads as your new subscribers are directing further down your sales funnel (or back end as it’s more commonly known).

Okay, let’s back this up a bit!

Why?

Well I have just realized I’ve been jumping right into this and many of you may not even know what a paid Solo Ad is or how you set one up or how they even work.

So this is what happens when you set up a paid Solo Ad:

1. You contact the solo ad provider once you’ve paid for the amount of clicks you want sent to your offer.

2. You send the solo provider and email swipe of what he/she needs to send to their list of subscribers. Basically you have an email set up that is customized to your offer with a number of links in it that point to your FREE offer.

3. They then get back in touch with you to tell you if they think that your offer is suited to what their list is looking for.

4. You then start to see traffic hitting your squeeze page(s), you see new subscribers begin to be added to your email list.

5. You will hopefully begin to see a good number of sales from your O.T.O’s and up-sells you have set up in your sales funnel and this means you can now place those proven buyers onto a separate buyers list in your auto-responder account.

Basically once your solo ad has been completed (all clicks you ordered have been sent to your offer) you will be looking to see a nice chunk of buyers have been added to your list, you’ve made some front end and back end sales and you have at least made some or all of your investment back from the amount you paid for the solo ad.

You also have the opportunity to make more sales from your buyers who didn’t originally buy your up-sell but bought your O.T.O and those subscribers who didn’t buy anything at first; but now may buy every single product from you at the back end of your sales funnel.

Remember that you have your emails set up to go out automatically as soon as your new subscribers enter your sales funnel and you can direct them to other web pages from your emails that have links to affiliate offers/your own offers etc.

Basically once you have a decent sized email list; the world’s your oyster.

Of course you need to know how to set up emails and set up broadcast emails also (but that is for another day; today we are focusing just on solo ads).

So in simple terms you would:

(A) Find a reputable solo ad vendor

(B) Buy some clicks from them that they send out to their list

(C) They send out an email to their list about your offer(s)

(D) You build your list, make some nice sales and grow your business ultra fast!

the good,bad,and ugly-400

In an ideal world this is what usually happens and you are closer to knowing how well your WHOLE sales funnel is performing and more of the guess work is taken away.

That’s the GOOD side of Solo Ads and when you find those golden solo ad vendors you can be rest assured that as long as you’ve put in some time and effort in setting up a strong sales funnel along with sales pages, emails and all that good stuff; you are ten times more likely to the kind of results I’ve just mentioned.

So what about the down right BAD & UGLY side then?

Well first of all let me tell you that I’m definitely not trying to put you off the idea of using solo ads to grow your list and online business ultra fast.

NO, NO, NO!

I just want to guide YOU into a state of mind that allows you to seek out the WINNERS from the outright LOSERS.

You see I have been hearing a load of talk lately stating that Solo Ads are dead for one and that there are lots of SCAM ARTISTS out there who are only interested in taking your money and not providing YOU with at least a few buyers from their lists but instead sending you their burnt out lists instead.

Okay so let’s look at the BAD:

You pay for a solo ad to go out and after the clicks have been sent YOU are horrified to see that you only have a few measly opt ins to show from your results and you have zero sales.

Now let’s look at the down right UGLY:

After that you look at your email stats only to find that a very small percentage of your new subscribers have even bothered to open up your 1st email.

This means you have been sent a load of washed out subscribers who are either only FREEBIE SEEKERS or have been passed around from marketer to marketer that often they don’t know whether they are coming or going.

Now for me personally I believe this can be REAL KILLER especially for newcomers who end up believing they have to re-vamp their WHOLE sales funnels again, they end up becoming discouraged and end up giving up on the idea of building and email list and making sales from solo ads to build a buyers list FAST.

So to help YOU avoid the BAD & the down right UGLY solo ad sellers out there; here are a few more tips and questions you can ask the vendor yourself before hitting that BUY BUTTON:

1. Ask the seller how often they update their lists with FRESH leads or subscribers and also ask how many they add to their lists on a weekly basis.

Now if they reply within 24 – 48 hours and they tell you or even show you their stats and you see 100’s of FRESH leads being added onto their lists; you are more than likely onto a winner.

2. Ask them how they build their lists.

If they reply by stating they ONLY use solo ads and lists swaps; you definitely want to try and steer clear from buying any ads with these guys.

You see if they are just doing swaps all the time; it’s far more likely that their lists will become far less responsive and won’t even bother to open up your emails.

3. Ask to see their FREE offer and take a look at their sales funnel.

Is what they’re offering is of low quality and does it look miss leading? If so you can instantly see that this seller is only looking to churn and burn and isn’t interested in looking after their lists at all.

As you buy more solo ads you will be able to instantly see who are the scam artists out there and who are the ones who consistently update their lists, treat their lists with respect and the ones who can send you buyers to help you grow your business and take things to the next level a lot FASTER than using FREE traffic methods alone.
